Last week was a right bugger. At work one of my projects (a web shop) went live and started pulling in a heap of visitors and orders during it’s first day which of course presented its own problems (and its first day just happened to be on the weekend also..), so had lots of work to do to get everything ship-shape and just the way they liked it. Now it’s (hopfeully) going smoothly so I’ve had a long weekend and been off on Friday and tomorrow as well. Am really loving it at work, nice atmosphere, nice people and a whole lot of learning which is just as it should be.
I wish I could say I’ve used this weekend productively but I’ve mostly been playing Lord of the Rings Online and decided to create a new character on a busier server. There’s about 10 servers in total each with their own set of players, think I was playing on one of the more sparsely populated ones, now I’m on the busiest one which means there’s quite a bit of competition for resources but at least there won’t be problems finding fellowships for the quests. I also kind of sickened of my elven hunter chick cos Lauri was always taking the piss and going on about elven princesses and all that jazz and I read a blog entry on one of the fan sites written by an elven chick who was a total bam (‘Ohhh I just lurveee elves’) but her avatar looked like mine so am now a sensible human and the elves can bugger off ;) Now I’ve just got to get back up to level 32 again :/
In real life the washing machine has given up the ghost. R.I.P old stinky. The washing machine looks like it’s from the 70′s and it’s done well to last this well. When it goes into the spin cycle it sounds like there’s rocks in there. Ordered a new slim-line top-loader fancy madoodah that has an A+ power rating. Bet our electricity bill will half (halve ?!) as well. Lauri wasn’t chuffed cos I ticked the ‘remove our old one’ checkbox to the tune of 25 euro but hell, it’ll save a lot of angst and broken backs as we try to move the freaken cement block. Bugger it, easy road all the way. Once the new one arrives I might even do some laundry just so I can play with the settings :0.

Pity about the washing machine…..had one here for sale in NZ where the guy wrote the best selling pitch ever for it, he ended making like 6k on it or something stupid.

But thats not the only reason for this post. I’ve just recently installed the Author Advertising plugin for wordpress and having issues as it says:
“Your Author Advertising table structure is out of date…. updated now.
Your Author Advertising table structure is out of date…. updated now.
The database table is not installed, check your db permissions and activate the plugin again or run the following code in phpMyAdmin
CREATE TABLE wp_author_advertising ( id mediumint(9) NOT NULL auto_increment, author_id int(11) NOT NULL default ’0′, author_advertising text NOT NULL, author_custom1 text, author_custom2 text, PRIMARY KEY (`id`) );”
Which has me stumped as I try to update the myphpadmin but not to where to do that on GoDaddy. Hopefully you’ve had some experience with this or can help me get it up and running……I promise to donate ;).
:D that was some seriously clever advertising.
I don’t have any experience with using GoDaddy hosting but a quick Googling later I’ve found.. these instructions for how to find your GoDaddy phpMyAdmin. All those errors mean is that the plugin doesn’t have rights to create a new table in the database. I realllllyyyyy need to update these bloomin plugins to make em more user friendly. Gah. Right.. so what you need to do is run this code…
CREATE TABLE wp_author_advertising ( id mediumint(9) NOT NULL auto_increment, author_id int(11) NOT NULL default ‘0′, author_advertising text NOT NULL, author_custom1 text, author_custom2 text, PRIMARY KEY (`id`) );”
… in your phpMyAdmin’s SQL panel (sounds a bit complicated but once you see phpMyAdmin I hope it’s clear). It’ll run, tell you it inserted a table and that’ll be that :) Good luck!
Got the plugin working…well at least I hope I have. It’s created a table and the prompt in wordpress has gone.
Shame it didn’t show the comments as well. The guy who wrote it was very witty. One smart asked where his wife was as he was doing the laundry, his replay was that he didn’t want to tell anyone but his wife got sicked into the vortex as well, but at least she’s with the iron :).
You should update the plugin, and add the ability to track authors posts through analytics and add the ability to for people to insert kontera as ID’s as well. I would buy this plugin if you made it, unless someone beats you to it ;). As long as it updates with the new WordPress Updates.
I have used Kontera on one of my blogs and i earn good from this ad program.;;.
