This site is a selection of thoughts/creations/ramblings/rantings and general crap that comes out of my brain. It started wayyy back in 2003 as a blog on Blogger till I got my own domain kinkydress.com. HarleyQuine.com came about after I decided to move my blog from kinkydress.com, I’d been blogging for a while but figured it was time for a new identity. So I came up with HarleyQuine; Harley cos I love the bikes and Quine which means girl in Scottish and also similar to ‘Quino’ a nickname my mum calls me. I’ve also always loved Batman and clowns so it was also a sort of play on words from Harley Quinn (the Jokers girlfriend).
I enjoy coding, playing bass, listening to music, watching movies, hanging out with my pets and man, Facebook, reading, Lifehacker, Mario, simulation games and Runescape. I also like sitting on my arse and am not prone to exercise :S
A list of things you probably didn’t know (nor care to know)…
- Quine is pronounced like Kwine (Twine with a K).
- I am a female geek.
- I have a secret passion for making code pretty.
- I personify my computers.
- I give my pets voices.
- I lie awake at night thinking about user interfaces.

I wrote to you to give you a little idea for your plugin. When you put the list of shorturls I think it’s better if the list is ordered DESC, because when you create a new link, then you have to go to the 4º or 23º or 53º page of the list to see what link url number was created.

I think it’s a good idea, even better would be to allow the user to click on the headings allowing them to sort them however they want.. one day I’ll get it updated but till then I’ve added your suggestion to the update list so I don’t forget. Glad you like the plugin :)

Today I installed a spanking brand new WordPress and installed Author Advertising and it worked the way it should. Some people have problems with database permissions but if you follow the instructions in the config page you’ll get it up and running (by the by the DB permissions problem isn’t anything to do with WP version or this script ;). So yep, guess I can. It does need an update and is a bit fugly but it works! Lemme know how you get on.

Just wanted to let you know that I am using the author advertiser plugin on my website. It looks pretty good so far, just not had chance to test it all yet!
The db update didn’t all go automatically, had to insert a bit of SQL code automatically, it was all well explained though!
If you want I can host that PDF guide on my website, could really use it at the moment as I am trying to integrate it all in to my blog!

We’re using your URL Shortener WP plugin on a site with the idea that it will brand our organization rather than tinyurl or bit.ly in our twitter feed … as it appears now, only my assistant and I can actually use the plugin, as we’re the only ones with access to the site’s admin area. Is there a way to incorporate the code into the Main Index Page, so that /anyone/ can use the shortener form? I tried to do a simple copy-and-paste from the plugin code into the index.php and it barfed. Any ideas?

This plugin was only intended for admins to create download links and track outgoing links not as a fully fledged shortening system. Since you’re on WordPress there’s probably some other plugins that will let you create your own shortening service just checkout the Extend pages on WordPress. Hope you find what you’re looking for :)
