Was in Moria for a bit tonight killin things and doing a couple of quests. Seems there’s a lot of problems with disconnections and game freezes. A couple of weeks ago I kept disconnecting from the server but now that it’s working fine for me, it’s not working fine for everyone else. They’ve now got free to play accounts so that anyone can play, maybe their servers weren’t ready for it :S

As the nerds among you will notice HQ is upgraded to WordPress 3.0. Was a painless process, had to press about three buttons. A lot of the changes appear to be about the customisation of the current theme so rather than lose that functionality I think I’ll stick with the default till I get a new one done up. The site seemed to be taking a long time to load as well, possibly due to the previous theme having hi-res images but more probably the analytics/google ad code. Ack weel. So far so good with the plugins, not a one “It’s broken and I dunno how to fix it” report so far, be sure to scream if you’re affected.

We’ve got a gig today in Hämeenlinna at the festival Kesäloma Express. Should be interesting. Our singer Valtteri has been ill the past couple of days with fever, so god knows what kind of state he’ll be in today. I forgot to go to practice on Wednesday even though I’d been reminding myself all damn day so god knows what kind of state.. erm.. I’ll be in. Perfect gig conditions. Last week was a right bugger. At work one of my projects (a web shop) went live and started pulling in a heap of visitors and orders during it’s first day which of course presented its own problems (and its first day just happened to be on the weekend also..), so had lots of work to do to get everything ship-shape and just the way they liked it. Now it’s (hopfeully) going smoothly so I’ve had a long weekend and been off on Friday and tomorrow as well. Am really loving it at work, nice atmosphere, nice people and a whole lot of learning which is just as it should be.

I wish I could say I’ve used this weekend productively but I’ve mostly been playing Lord of the Rings Online and decided to create a new character on a busier server. There’s about 10 servers in total each with their own set of players, think I was playing on one of the more sparsely populated ones, now I’m on the busiest one which means there’s quite a bit of competition for resources but at least there won’t be problems finding fellowships for the quests. I also kind of sickened of my elven hunter chick cos Lauri was always taking the piss and going on about elven princesses and all that jazz and I read a blog entry on one of the fan sites written by an elven chick who was a total bam (‘Ohhh I just lurveee elves’) but her avatar looked like mine so am now a sensible human and the elves can bugger off ;) Now I’ve just got to get back up to level 32 again :/

In real life the washing machine has given up the ghost. R.I.P old stinky. The washing machine looks like it’s from the 70′s and it’s done well to last this well. When it goes into the spin cycle it sounds like there’s rocks in there. Ordered a new slim-line top-loader fancy madoodah that has an A+ power rating. Bet our electricity bill will half (halve ?!) as well. Lauri wasn’t chuffed cos I ticked the ‘remove our old one’ checkbox to the tune of 25 euro but hell, it’ll save a lot of angst and broken backs as we try to move the freaken cement block. Bugger it, easy road all the way. Once the new one arrives I might even do some laundry just so I can play with the settings :0.

Easter Weekend

I’ve been really looking forward to this long weekend after working so hard the past three months. We’re driving up north tomorrow morning to stay for a few nights and the pets are all sorted while we’re gone so with a bit of luck we can just chilllllll.

I’ve just been playing around with the font sizes on here, what a pain in the arse it is to set fonts these days. Thought the whole point of CSS was to make styling easier pfft. Anyhoo I should probably go to bed since theoretically we’re leaving early in the morning…. ya right. Happy easter everyone!
