Short URL Plugin update

The Short URL Plugin was updated last week and so far there’s been a lot of positive responses. Some folk have had trouble with their links suddenly not working, if that’s the case then turn on the htaccess checkbox in the settings page (I turned that off by default so people could see how the htaccess options have changed). Anyhoo keep those comments and thoughts coming :)

*New Plugin* Write About Me

I came up with a wee plugin this evening Write About Me Plugin which gives you suggestions from RSS feeds. Useful for folk who do a lot of commentary on recent events. I’m knackered now so do try it out and lemme know how it goes. Free help with using any of my plugins is always available from the support page.

Script Updates

I installed WordPress 2.7 on my testing domain in order to update all of my plugins. I found a bug in Interlinks and fixed it but it has no problems with 2.7.

Author Advertising Plugin is a bit funkier. A few users have complained that it’s not working with 2.7 but when I tried it, it was working fine. Am waiting to hear back from those users to find out what’s going on.

The Short URL Plugin has also been updated and writes the htaccess rules when a user updates their permalink structure and the file structure is now the same as 2.7 i.e in a sub-folder in plugins as oppose to just in plugins. Re-install the script using the automatic install features of WordPress 2.7. Am not too keen on the htaccess feature as it may cause more problems than it solves.

I’ve been a bit busy.. doing this theme! Yay.. how different it looks eh? Dusty plugins (my own and other people’s…) have been deleted and it’s all a bit swank in the dashboard section. Author Advertising Plugin, Interlinks and Short URL Plugin have all been updated recently and stuck into the »Plugins Directory so future updates will be easy peasy.. Subscription service has been moved to a better plugin so unfortunately any subscriptions you used to have are gone but with a bit of luck the new layout will allow you to subscribe to things a lot easier.Trackbacks are seperated from real comments and registered members get a gravatar and ‘Dodgy Geezer’ removed so there’s a reason to register (I plan to add more ’services’ to members so stop being a lazy bum and register, oh yeah but I haven’t finished that user box yet.. typical).
